The World Didn’t End…

MaxPower September 10th, 2008

It is Wednesday morning in North America, the Large Hadron Collider is on in France and the world has not come to an end. We did not experience mini black holes tearing away at the fabric of space time. There hasn’t been a series of earthquakes or tsunamis (tsunamis? really? that is the best critics could come up with? This thing is in inland France you know). I have no doubt some people/bloggers/crazies are somewhat disappointed and/or are already convinced of a massive cover up. That being said they don’t get to full power for a year so there is still chance for the pro-mini-black hole people to get their wish. Interestingly, there is this page which makes the case FOR mini-black holes but then say they’d be completely harmless.

Check out this pretty decent live blog of the progress at Cern
as they turn on the LHC.
