2010 Team Canada hockey jerseys are here

Earlier today, Hockey Canada unveiled the new team Canada hockey jerseys that will be worn by both the mens and womens teams as they represent our country in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. They kind of have a mix of retro and new rolled into one. Pretty cool. And instead of a flat colour maple leaf, there are secondary graphics related to Canada’s history inside. Images include a hockey player with a stick in hand as well as two powerful First Nations icons — the thunderbird and eagle. The jersey also features a new interpretation of the Vancouver 2010 inukshuk and COC marks.

“We are very proud to unveil the new Team Canada hockey jerseys that our hockey athletes will wear to help bring back the gold,” said Maria Montaño, general manager, Nike Canada. “We expect fans will love it, especially since they will be able to see it in action on home ice.”

If you like them, you can buy them for $135 at Nike stores, The Olympic Store at vancouver2010.com, and at Hudson Bay Company stores across Canada.
